| | PLOT When Ted York, a newspaper reporter is sent for an emergency operation at Haven Hospital, it couldn't be more fitting, from seeing life beyond the ward, to testing the desires of Nurse Denton. However all the paients have there own problems from Mr Rickitt, who thinks he is to good to be there, Mr Bishop who hurt his hand in a boxing match to the Cornel who loves horse racing and daffodils. But then Mr Bell arrives, with a bunion, however his operation gets postponed so many times, that the paients end up cutting it out for him.
| VERDICT The First Carry On set in a Hospital, and what a corker it really is, on comparrison to the further adventures set on the medical theme, this comes close to hitting Doctor's rank. However many parts of it are fairly weak and prove not to be to funny. Leslie Phillips is welcomed to the gang in style, as many of the Sergeant cast are reunited, and work well together. Hattie Jacques plays Matron for the first time and properly her best role as this charecter, full of biostrious and angry tempers fly. Not a bad Carry On, a quite pleasent entry into the series.
