Twisted Loop Scarf

Here is a very easy pattern that looks great!  You can use any size yarn and hook, you don’t even need a tension square.  Just make it until it is the required length.

I used an extra chunky yarn and an 8mm hook.  You can use dk yarn doubled or even tripled in complementing or contrasting colours for different effects.

If you are using a thinner yarn or longer loops, you will need to twist the hook more times to get the desired twisted effect.

UK Instructions

Twisted Fringe Loop:  Pull up a loop to 25 cm, turn your hook 12 times to twist the loop and ss into the back of the ch, letting the loop just formed fold in half and twist around itself.

Foundation Chain:  Ch 7, make Twisted Fringe Loop into back of 7th ch.

Row 1:  Dc into remaining 6 ch, ch 1, make Twisted Fringe Loop into back of ch.

Pattern Row:  Dc into each dc, ch 1, make Twisted Fringe Loop into back of ch.

Repeat pattern row until scarf is required length.  Fasten off and sew in ends.

US Instructions

Twisted Fringe Loop:  Pull up a loop to 10 inches, turn your hook 12 times to twist the loop and ss into the back of the ch, letting the loop just formed fold in half and twist around itself.

Foundation Chain:  Ch 7, make Twisted Fringe Loop into back of 7th ch.

Row 1:  Sc into remaining 6 ch, ch 1, make Twisted Fringe Loop into back of ch.

Pattern Row:  Sc into each sc, ch 1, make Twisted Fringe Loop into back of ch.

Repeat pattern row until scarf is required length.  Fasten off and sew in ends.
