MOBILITY SCOOTERS..... AGAIN

I have a gripe about those mobility scooters that old people use. I live in Margate and was stuck behind one of them going really slowly, as I stepped to the side to get in front of him he swerved and knocked into my daughter who is three. Neither me nor my daughter got an apology as he sped of and then ploughed through another 20 or so people trying to walk in the opposite direction. He was on his way to the Patisserie/Cafe next to Lloyds TSB on Margate High Street (I think it’s called Captains) and low and behold there were about 3 of those mobility scooters parked outside. I think we should question the right to whether or not they are allowed on the pavement, they have become a menace just like skateboarders, cyclists and rollerblades only they are probably more polite then the old B*****D that swerved into my three year old daughter. Police should be tighter on them and there should be fines for people found riding these on the pavement. Had I been on a narrow strip of pavement my daughter and I would have had to walk on the road!!!
So old people you probably have a free bus pass provided by the council, use it and leave your scooters at home, pavement is meant for shoes and not wheels.
IT IS DANGEROUS AND AWKWARD FOR ALL CONCERNED !
And i think the worst thing about those who commit this offense are disabled badge holders who seem to think it is a license to park anywhere, including junctions, loading bays, across driveways, turning round in one way streets and the list goes on. As much as i agree that those in need of badges should have them they are all too aften abused by the holders, not only that but given out willy nilly to anyone who has anything more than a nosebleed.
WAKE UP YOU BADGEHOLDERS AND STOP MAKING HIGHSTREETS AWKWARD FOR THOSE WHO NEED TO USE THEM !
I want to shame Thanet Council Work Department.
At the begining of 2003 they scheduled works to be carried out arround Invicta House, Margate. At the end of 2004 they had not compleated all the works but published an article celibrating the quick compleation (with photos of the painted twoer block).
We are now approaching the end of 2005 and the work is still not compleate. For example the "new" entry phones to be installed in Appledore Close and Elham Close are not all working and this has become common knowledge with door to door salesman regularly trespasing inside the building(s) knocking on doors.
Well done TDC - The council claims that work was carried out on time and to standard and yet it is still not finnished... and none of it was to any standard.
This site has more photos and docuemented the worst of it but a lot more has gone unreported that needs to be pointed out.
I would like to name and shame people naming and shaming. This world has enough bad feeling toward each other without people making others feel worse. And what if you make a mistake or "human error", i don't think you would like someone doing this to you.Someone was a little grumpy, and? Maybe they had a bad day. A store doesn't do something right?... then it's a training issue...In reply to the guy of the "PC Plonker" issue.. Ok, so you had a problem with the Dixons group in the past and there maybe many a person that has the same thoughts. You walk in with that thought and it's going to happen...And yes, website prices ARE going to be cheaper than in store. Maybe because you went in and complained about it is why they wrote off the difference in the first place..I know this places me in the league of the moaners, however, it has to be said..
And there also too many people who just put up and shut up !!!
We have the right to name and shame and it is about time that more do !!!
