HARROP TARN
Harrop tarn is a short, but steep walk from the banks of Thirlmere in the Lake District, but the views are worth the short pull up the side of Dobb Gill.

This is only a guide, some of the route may have changed since this guide was written. Anyone following this guide do so at their own risk.
- From Dob Gill car park on the lake road around Thirlmere (off the A591) Take the path leading through the woods. After a short time you will pass through a gate. Follow the zig-zag path up towards Harrop Tarn, passing Dob Gill waterfall on your left on the way. Shortly afterwards Harrop Tarn will come into view.
- After visiting the Tarn, cross over the bridge noting the stepping stones, and turn immediatly left following the path down. Shortly after crossing a stile the path splits, keep to the right to pass around the right of the outcrop called ' Binka Stone'.
- The path now becomes very poor so head for the wall ahead where you will find a stile, cross this and go to the right hand corner of the field to a gate onto the road. Turn left along the road to get back to the car park.
