BRECON BEACONS
NT WORKING HOLIDAY
Although this isn't under my normal remit of a walk or history/archaology site I have visited I have decided to do a write up of my weeks holiday anyway as it did involve a lot of walking and I wanted to do more than just post the photographs in an album!
Below I have posted photographs with a few comments underneath describing what they show! I have tried to run it as a running comentary of how the weeks work progressed and a few of the interesting bits inbetween. I would like to thank the Warden, leaders and the rest of the group for such a good week.
Path at end of day one Taking a break (one of many!)
(it's harder than it looks!) (Toilet facilities in the background!)
Working hard on day 2! Taking it easy on the top of Pen-Y-Fan

Having fun on the way back down!
Day off! Most of the group went kyacking on the day off but a couple of us took it easy, from left to right is where I visited. National caves centre (minature iron age village), standing behind waterfall and Big pit.
Group photo at end of stone pitched section of path...but there was more work to be done!!
Gravel path which we layed futher down the side of the mountain on Thursday after finishing the stone pitching with a photo on the right showing the basecamp, which I know looks like a barn but it was actually very nice accomodation! On the friday we did bracon bashing to keep the paths clear, however I didn't take any photo's! I have to say the brashing was very half hearted towards the end, due to tiredness and in some cases (not mine!) being a bit hungover!
On my way home I managed to take in a couple of castles, even if one was in the opposite direction to home! On the left is Carreg Cennen Castle and on the right is Raglan Castle.
One final photo I had to share....I spotted these stocks on the way home, I think they would have come in very handy during the week, I'll leave the the rest of the guys work out what I'm getting at...
