Home to the Middleton Hunt which can be found A longside the A64 , 6miles South West of Malton and 10miles North East of York.
Course Details-- One of the best courses in Yorkshire .A good galloping track which all 9f 18j can be seen from the hill,for those who like to get a close up of the race its along climb back to the bookies and food outlets.
The main race is the THE GRIMTHORPE CUP (CLICK ABOVE FOR SHORT HISTORY) ,run over four miles and one furlong .
The course is alongside the A64 York road and is six miles from the racing town of Malton with the city of York just 10 miles away.
There are two car parks the main one gives good viewing from the car if you get there early.
This is the oldest course in Yorkshire still in use.Racing started here in 1927.
Starting with their backs to the hill the runners take a plain fence before meeting the open ditch(with a deep brook running in front of it) the rest of the fences are plain and all jump well .The run in is short from the last turn with one fence to jump.A vist to the open ditch is a must.
The Middleton used a course at Howsham before moving to Whitwell-on -the-Hill
